My First Steps with Static Site Generators

Today I’m taking my first steps with a new static site generator. My previous website was also built on an SSG, Grav to be exact. Recently, though, I came across Hugo – and it caught my interest right away.

Over the last few months I’ve become more and more aware of how much I want to share my experiences from the IT and DevOps world with others. Sure, there are countless tech and IT blogs out there, but maybe my posts can help someone too – just like I keep benefiting from what other enthusiasts have figured out.

My day job in an MSP environment in the enterprise open source space, along with using open source software privately, regularly gives me interesting insights – and quite often that typical “if only I’d known this sooner!” moment. I do keep a wiki where I write down a lot of things, but that’s more for compact notes. A blog is much better suited for longer explanations and technical background.

So over the coming weeks I want to try to write here regularly about the things I run into day to day.
